A battery is very much a battery but not all suppliers are equal. Tayna are the number one, go to battery people for their excellent pricing and unrivalled back up. Their range of stock is pretty impressive as well!

Highly recommended; bought to replace the battery on a P38 Range Rover 4.6 Vogue. Fits perfectly into the standard battery tray and the polarity terminals line up nicely too. Cold starts now occur with increased enthusiasm.

Well packaged, arrived on time and plenty of power to get a Land Rover Defender started on the coldest of mornings. Please note that this battery is slightly taller than the standard battery however it does fit in my 110 TD5 underseat battery compartment if positioned towards the front.

Excellent battery at a cracking-good price with delivery included ! The engine turns over very fast indeed, it just goes to show how the old battery had deteriorated. The new one was delivered quickly, on time, with tracking. I was a little apprehensive as it looked as if the battery leads would not reach, as this one, the 640SHD has centrally-located terminals (which logically help high current delivery if one thinks about basic engineering ?), but they did, and I did check first ! This battery, like some other modern ones, comes with little red plastic end plugs which MUST be removed before use to prevent pressurisation. The previous battery was a Yuasa 644HD which has separate cell caps to enable individual cell checking (one cell was faulty btw.) and it is admittedly easier to check for this fault if one can see the electrolyte fuming as a high-current discharge test is made with an automotive battery tester. Googles must be worn when this is done, I must add ! However, these older sorts of batteries are not sealed like the 664SHD and cannot easily be transported like they used to be. The new one is slightly lighter at about 35KG, (by 1 kilo or so ....), but still difficult to lift in and out. It has a visual charge indicator.

Well worth the money. Fitted it to my td5 discovery to replace the “recommended” list battery of a reputable brand that was never honestly man enough for the job and failed after 2 years. Such a difference in cold starting performance with this battery and very well priced

If it saves anyone else the hassle this 640SHD is a direct fit with no need for modification of the battery tray. Most online battery sites recommend a smaller battery size and lower cca as was used in older discoveries (300tdi). Solved my cold start issues with previous lower cca battery. Delivery was very fast and very well packed. Definitely would use again.
