Electric Fence Batteries
BZZZZZZZ.... Electrify your fence with one of our electric fence batteries!
Electric fence batteries are great way to power your electric fence: Rechargeable, portable and POWERFUL. An electric fence is a great way to protect your animals from predators. An electric fence is also a great way to stop your prized animals from escaping.
Electric fence batteries provide a powerful shock to whomever or whatever comes close enough! The bigger the battery the more severe the electric shock. Larger batteries will also last longer between charging.
Electric fence batteries should be looked after and monitored on a regular basis. If the battery is left to go flat in the field, all sorts of pandemonium could ensue. And "Sly Mr Fox" will have a very satisfying supper!
Electric Fences use specialist batteries derived from our leisure batteries ranges to power them. We recommend using a battery box to keep your battery dry and away from the elements.
How to Choose an Electric Fence Battery
Choosing your Electric Fence battery is fairly simple. The first thing that you need to decide on is the capacity that you require, which is measured in Ampere-hours (Ah). The larger this value, the longer the battery will last between charges.
The downside of having a higher capacity battery is that the higher the Ah figure is, the heavier the battery will be, so if your charging base is miles away from the fence bear this in mind!
We recommend where possible having a two battery setup, which we call Fit One, Charge One. In this scenario, as the name suggests, one battery is fitted to the fence out in the wilds, whilst the other charges. That way, when your battery starts to run out of charge you have a fully charged one ready to go.
