Reviews of Yuasa YCXL12 12V 12A Leisure Smart Charger

This charger is presented in a good quality box containing the charger, connecting cables, a decent quality bag and instruction book. The charger is in a strong rubber surround that protects it from small drops, it appears to be quite robust. The first battery I have used it on wouldn’t charge using my old intelligent charger, I thought it was a dead battery but decided to try and charge it anyway. Took me a few seconds to get it all connected, I set the gel setting at 8 amps and charging commenced. When I later checked it showed the fault light so I started again. A few hours later I rechecked and again had the fault light on. I held the mode button for 3 seconds and the charger switched to power supply mode. After leaving it overnight on this mode I then changed back to regular charging mode by holding the mode button for another 3 seconds. I didn’t expect much but to my surprise a few hours later the battery was fully charged and on maintenance charge. I’m impressed, it’s already paid for itself and I’m a happy customer

Bought to keep my boat leisure battery charged whilst out of the water for the winter. Very easy to enter the battery type (wet) and maximum charge current to match the battery capacity and that's it until time to go back in the water at spring time.
