This "Equivalent" battery has the correct electrical specification and the same manufacturer as my original equipment Mercedes A180 battery, but this one is physically different in two ways, one of which REALLY MATTERS. The A180 battery sits under the floor below the driver's feet, and needs to be lifted out of, and lowered into, the battery pit beneath floor level. There's little room to do this - so the original has fold-down handles to lift and hold it by. This new one doesn't have any way to lift it from above. It took a while to find a suitable piece of webbing strap material to make a removable cradle to lower this battery into place. We then needed to pull out the webbing strap, which won't be possible to replace, so we have probably stored up BIG TROUBLE for the future when it comes to replace this one! The other physical difference was that the original battery had a small round black window which would change to white if the acid level was low; the new one doesn't have such an indication. Both are sealed no-maintenance batteries. Practically this lack of acid-level indication on the new battery has zero impact - one just NEVER previously looked under the floor and battery compartment lid in order to check the previous indicator, which still showed black even when one cell had died and the battery had failed. Meanwhile, today this "Equivalent" battery is working perfectly. Great battery, great price, thanks you for a good service, Tayna!
