The important thing to remember about batteries for electric bikes,etc.is that they need to be of a Cyclic type, i.e. it will handle charge\discharge,and keep up performance. This is where the Yuasa battery scores. Its specifically built for this purpose. Its no use using an alarm\stand-by battery (that looks the same and fits the same) - it just won't last! As the owner of an Electric bike i have to say the Yuasa battery is very reliable, and if you look after it (Remember to down-charge it every couple of weeks) they do last a long time. I have tried other batteries (Some of the top brands) and they only lasted about 6 Months! My last set of Yuasa lasted over 2 years.( and that's a lotta cycling) This battery appears to have a higher capacity i.e. the original was a 12-12 now its being boosted to 12-14Ahr. It does not appear to have any effect on the charger, and that little bit extra gives some extended distance. Having had bad experiences with other batteries im staying with Yuasa. I have to say the battery arrived in a well packed and protected package, and worked straight out of the box. At time of writing this review the battery is working great. I would recommend this battery. :Desmond
