If you buy this for an old triumph trophy (1991-4)like I did you will have to adjust your battery box as it's a very! tight fit. People have said it's a tall battery but it isn't any taller than the standard it's just a tad 'deeper' than the standard. Haven't started bike up for several weeks now (deep snow),and with the standard battery I would have had to jump start off of my car to get the bike firing again, but this had it started after several turn overs which with my lazy starter motor isn't bad at all. I would have probably given 5 stars, but haven't tested it after camping for the weekend in the cold yet, but will do second weekend in February.

I ordered a Westco gel battery but they said that it would take weeks so I could try a Numax battery. They did not say that the Numax battery was a sealed lead acid battery and not a gel battery. Maybe the Numax battery will work as I have read that gel batteries are overcharged by the alternators on older bikes. The Numax does not start the bike in cold weather as my old Westco did but it may be a starter motor problem which I am facing, so Good Luck.

This is very good value, and cheaper than the conventional battery offered by a Royal Enfield dealer. Slightly awkward to fit because of the position of the screw holes, but once in the bike fired up first touch of the button. Prompt delivery, too.

Main dealers supply sealed battery kits that require extending the leads! I purchased this with fingers crossed hoping it would fit, no problems when fitted. Thanks for the exellent service! Regards, Mike

Can't speak for longevity of this battery (yet), but it has dramatically improved the starting of my '70s lump.
