Reviews of Maypole MP7108 6/12V 8A Automatic Battery Charger

I purchased this battery charger after reading the information on your website which was very informative. I have just purchased a vehicle with stop/start technology, but didn’t realise that if I don’t use the vehicle every day the battery would discharge slightly and this would automatically switch off the stop/start system. Thus the need for a battery charger which confirmed that my battery was only 75% charged, which is not enough to cause cold start problems but low enough to switch off the eco mode. The battery charger worked like magic topping my battery up to 100% in a couple of hours. What I did learn is that on both of our cars there is an earth connection near the battery so you don’t have to connect the negative clamp to the engine or chassis, just look for what I would describe as a large nut/washer near the battery. Full marks to Tayna for the competitive price and 24hr delivery.

A neat unit, clearly displays charge status, has already been used on a range of batteries from 40 A/hr - 75 A/hr. Good value.

Very well designed battery charger, the handle makes it easy to move from place to place and the crocodile clips are large and well protected. Also the readout for the status of the battery is very good and easy to read.
