Very much better than the non-AGM battery Audi recommended. These, Audi, go flat and then die with 12 months if you do not use the car a lot. Audi say it due to abuse from overcharging and so do no honour the warranty, but the new 2010+ S8 fits AGM! Varta is with VAG battery code. I have bought a SmartCharger which is suitable for long term connection-top up.

I fitted this battery as a replacement on my Porsche Cayenne 2011. I originally asked a garage for a quote for the battery using the Porsche approved version and was horrified to be told that the battery was £400 plus fitting. Having taken half the car apart to reach the battery I was able to identify the exact specification and size. This battery is the exact same at less than half the cost delivered to my door. This is a quality battery designed for stop start facility so has a high CCA rating, and is performing perfectly. Plenty of muscle and should be good for a number of years.
